Hardware, right now, a lot of Mac hardware is seriously out of date, The Mac Pro hasn't had any updates since its release in 2013 and the current iMac is 2 years old. Even high end windows laptops cost way less than Macbook Pros.

Core audio built right into the OS allowing low latency & great performance even on built in sound cardsĬost, Macs are are alot more expensive than building your own computer.

Very plug and play (No drivers required for MIDI keyboards and lots of out of the box support for many audio interfaces).

Ableton Supports AU & VST (AU only really helpful if you're a Logic user).

More dependent on quality of ASIO drivers from audio interface manufactures.

Systems are more prone to viruses and malware.

No proper 4K/High DPI Retina support in Ableton yet.

Very low latency (with the right audio interface).

Hardware quality is leaps and bounds better than it used to be (Especially with laptops).

Way cheaper and can build your own system.

Access to more VSTs that are windows only.

Here's some pro's and cons of both platforms right now Having recently been jumping between Windows 10 & MacOS recently here's my points.
